The Battery Conservancy

The Battery Conservancy was established in 1994 to revitalize and rebuild Battery Park in downtown Manhattan. The park began declining in the late 20th century and lost its place as a popular destination for New Yorkers and tourists. The Conservancy, a not-for-profit organization, renewed the public space’s vision.

Over 29 years, the Conservancy has pumped new life into The Battery and raised capital to transform the once dilapidated and rundown dustbowl into a tranquil public garden and outdoor oasis. Through the successful initiatives listed below, The Battery has become a model of conservation and biodiversity efforts.

We were commissioned to work on a new identity for them, with many avenues and options being explored.  The favored solution was a contemporary, bold logotype, which visually emphasized ‘Battery’ with an integrated graphic wave shape representing their connection to the Hudson River and being ‘on the water.’ We then implemented the new logo across all of their media communications.

How can we help you?

Let’s meet?
