Open Space Institute

We worked with the Open Space Insitute to create their award-winning story map: ‘Saving The Shawngunks’, an in-depth journey into the Shawangunk Ridge, named by the Nature Conservancy as one of the last 75 Greatest Places On Earth.

The story map covered its unique geographical form, environmental importance to the region and surrounding communities, and the need for a new visitor center at Minnewaska State Park. Our work included site design, planning, video, and photography, both ground-based and aerial.

We then worked with them to produce the highly successful capital campaign video supporting the creation of the new Minnewaska State Park Visitor Center, a joint project between New York State and Open Space Institute, which opened in October 2020.
